PUSTAKA BOOKAROO, the children’s literature festival, which is committed to bringing children and books together to celebrate the joy of reading returns to Kuching on the 16th and 17th April 2016 at Pustaka Negeri from 11am to 4.30pm each day.

What can you expect? With 22 speakers from 4 countries over two days of non-stop fun and total excitement in and around books, there is some for everyone aged between 4 and 12. Meet writers, illustrators, storytellers, poets – of course a princess or two may be lurking around the corner with the odd dragon never far away and a whole menagerie of marvelous animals just waiting to welcome you!

Be ready for a storytelling marathon at The Baruq with tales to make you smile, tales to make you wonder, tales to make you think and tales to sing along with.

Share the Doodle Wall with famous illustrators and let your imagination soar. Whether you are the next great artist or just want to have fun, create your very own masterpiece and fill the wall of paper with your drawings!

Meanwhile there will be paper capers galore at Crafty Corner, from mask mania to pop-ups to water colour wonders.

If you have ever wondered how a book is made, where ideas come from or why the sky is blue, listen carefully as writers reveal the answers to these and other such questions.

Travel back in time to discover the story behind the National Anthem and famous characters from the past.

Explore the majesty and mystery of the Rainforest through drama, stories and through the lives of the

People and animals who live there. Dive deep into the forest or under the sea with well-known illustrators and watch as they bring their stories to life.

With a little expert help, create the music that words make. Act, sing and chant along – make beautiful poetry.

Mix up knotty plexicated dreams like the BFG and fill The Cove with Dream Jars – will they be phizzwizards, ringbellers, rotbungling or grinksludging?

There will be a special display of the books by the speakers at the Festival Bookstore, where you can browse and buy and have your books signed.

And of course a variety of stalls selling food and drinks.
