IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANISER: POSTPONEMENT OF EVENT.
Dear Frog Race Participant,
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is a rapidly changing situation from a public health perspective, and our priority is everyone’s health and well being. The Federal Government has ordered a lock down starting 18 March, and travel as well as holding of large meetings has been postponed or cancelled. The University authorities as well as this Committee, have suggested that the 9th International Bornean Frog Race 2020 be postponed.
Accordingly, we would like to inform you the 9th IBFR 2020 stands postponed till such time the health authorities in Sarawak and Malaysia deem it safe to hold the event in 2021. We urge you to visit our official website from time to time for the latest updates.
We realise many of you have registered and paid for the event. For such participants, we will reimburse the fees, and please fill the form which has been sent to your email and send it back to Miss Pang at the following email address-14010019@siswa.unimas.my.
The International Bornean Frog Race 2020 is a yearly event focused on promoting awareness, interest and education about amphibians and amphibian conservation around the world, engaging participants in fun and worthwhile activities, presentations and group workshops.
The event draws public attention to the frogs of Borneo, and target children for programmes on nature conservation. It includes talks on amphibian biology and conservation, exhibition of frog photographs, and the finale will be a frog-spotting race at participating outlets in a designated mall, where participants try to spot the most number of frog species, represented by hidden images.
